Both companies are newcomers to the cryptocurrency industry.

CNBC reached out to Eric Trump and Witkoff for comment on their leadership roles at World Liberty Financial but did not receive an immediate response.

A source familiar with the project revealed that Witkoff has shown little interest in understanding how the platform works. The source also mentioned that anyone wishing to learn crucial details about the platform, including the whitepaper, is required to sign a confidentiality agreement.
