Former Celsius CEO Seeks Subpoena of Six Witnesses as He Faces 115-Year Prison Sentence
On September 17, according to The Block, former Celsius CEO Alex Mashinsky requested to call six former employees of the crypto company to testify on his behalf as he faces the possibility of over 100 years in prison.
Mashinsky was arrested last year, with prosecutors alleging he defrauded customers and made misleading statements about Celsius's profitability. In a memo filed by his attorneys last Friday, he requested the New York Federal Court to allow these witnesses to testify in his criminal trial, including the crypto lending platform's chief financial officer and chief revenue officer. The attorneys said many of the proposed witnesses live outside the United States.
Mashinsky's attorneys claimed in the memo that he had no intention of harming anyone.
