Over 20 Industry Professionals Write to Harris Campaign Seeking Meeting This Month to Discuss Crypto Policy
Multiple Crypto Industry Leaders Request Meeting with Harris-Walz Campaign
Several leaders in the crypto industry are requesting a meeting with Vice President Kamala Harris and her running mate, Tim Walz, to discuss policy recommendations that promote innovation and inclusivity. In a letter addressed to the campaign's policy team on Tuesday, Cleve Mesidor, founder of Nat'l policy Network WOC Blockchain, Olayinka Odeniran, founder of the Black Women Blockchain Council, and Tonya Evans, Professor at Penn State Dickinson Law, among others, called for a regulatory framework for Web3 and DeFi that encourages American innovation.
Over 20 individuals signed the letter, stating: "Our diverse group of Web3 and DeFi industry leaders is writing to request a meeting with the HarrisWalz campaign policy team in October 2024 to discuss the importance of Web3 and DeFi policies and regulatory frameworks that promote innovation in the United States."
The letter continued, "…To ensure an opportunity economy within a fair competitive landscape, the government must strike a balance between consumer protection measures and policies that foster financial inclusion and capital formation." (The Block)
