US Prosecutor: Man Stole Over $37 Million in Cryptocurrency From Nearly 600 Victims
PANews reported on October 2nd that, according to The Block, an Indiana man has pleaded guilty to "computer intrusion" charges and has been accused of stealing over $37 million in cryptocurrency from nearly 600 victims. Court documents show that in February 2022, the man "participated in a computer intrusion that involved an investment holding company in Sioux Falls, South Dakota." The documents also claim that the man is accused of stealing personal information and then robbing hundreds of victims. The stolen cryptocurrency was subsequently transferred to various locations around the world, including multiple mixing services and gambling websites, to conceal his identity and hide the virtual currency.
